A Kiss in the Dreamhouse

Siouxsie and the Banshees · 1982

Siouxsie and the Banshees recorded this in the summer of 1982 at Playground in Camden Town and Abbey Road, with Mike Hedges engineering. It was the first album on which they used real strings rather than synthesisers. Sessions began with a week of improvisation sparked by a tape-looped section of the orchestral version of Fireworks. Hedges layered and multi-tracked Siouxsie's voice, and the album includes recorders, chimes, tubular bells and loops. The artwork was inspired by Gustav Klimt, and the title refers to a Los Angeles brothel.
