Another Green World is the Brian Eno album where he began moving from art-rock songs towards ambient music. He recorded it in July and August 1975 at Island Studios in London, going in with no prepared material and using his Oblique Strategies cards and numbered lists of instructions for the players, including Phil Collins, Robert Fripp and John Cale. Eno looped short licks to build the tracks, and only five of the fourteen have vocals, which he sang as nonsense syllables and then shaped into words. Credits such as "castanet guitars" and "snake guitar" describe treated instruments, and he reused parts of "Sky Saw" on later work.
