Catch Thirtythree is one continuous suite split into 13 movements, with a 13-minute centrepiece, "In Death - Is Death". Meshuggah recorded it in 2004 and 2005 at Fear and Loathing Studios in Stockholm with the drums programmed instead of played, using Toontrack's EZdrummer and its Drumkit from Hell expansion. The four band members share writing, drum programming and mixing credits, and the music is built around Meshuggah's trademark polyrhythms and odd time signatures. It is classified as avant-garde, progressive and groove metal.
