Ween recorded this in 1994, their first album made in a professional studio, with Andrew Weiss producing and playing bass. Claude Coleman Jr. joined on drums, so live drums replaced much of the drum machine, and the sound is more hi-fi than the lo-fi four-track records before it. It jumps between psychedelia, country, funk, industrial, soul and Latin music. Freedom of '76 uses multi-tracked backing vocals, and Gene Ween credited a Sesame Street Spanish lesson for Buenas Tardes Amigo.
