Luminescent Creatures is the ninth album by Ichiko Aoba, released on Hermine on 28 February 2025 and sung in Japanese. It follows Windswept Adan and takes the origins of life as its subject, from the formation of the earth to the first creatures of the sea, drawing on Aoba's research into bioluminescence and including samples of whales communicating. Aoba's classical guitar and voice are joined by Taro Umebayashi's piano, celesta and orchestration, harp, flute and the Phonolite Strings, and the two produced it together. It runs for about 36 minutes in eleven tracks.
