Souvenirs d'un autre monde
- Scores: Noise 2, Unease 2, Complexity 2 (each 1 to 5)
- Genre: Metal, Rock, Shoegaze, Post-rock
- Mood: luminous, wistful, otherworldly
- Sound: layered tremolo guitars, acoustic passages, clean vocals, luminous melodies; black-metal-derived techniques
Neige wrote the whole of Alcest's debut and played every instrument on it, his last release to do so, with Martin Koller producing and Audrey Sylvain guesting on vocals for one track. It moved away from the earlier EP Le Secret towards post-metal and shoegaze while keeping elements of black metal. Neige sees the title as a journey through his memories of a distant world. The closing track takes its name from Tir nan Og, the Irish Land of the Young.
