Tago Mago completely rejects traditional rock song structures for hypnotic and mantra-like repetition. The stream-of-consciousness vocals treat the voice like an abstract instrument. The album was edited using razor blades to slice, loop and edit massive tape reels into brand-new compositions long before the era of digital sampling. Can successfully fused academic avant-garde classical theory with raw street energy to create a totally unprecedented musical language.
