Brian Eno recorded this in September 1974 at Island Studios in London, producing with help from Phil Manzanera. He and Peter Schmidt's Oblique Strategies cards prompted unplanned decisions in the sessions, and he wrote the lyrics by singing nonsense syllables over finished backing tracks and turning the sounds into words. Robert Wyatt plays percussion, Phil Collins adds drums on one track and the Portsmouth Sinfonia supplies strings. The title comes from postcards of a Chinese revolutionary opera.
