Through Silver in Blood is a slow, distorted Neurosis album that builds long pieces on heavy guitars, bass and drums with sampling and synthesiser from Noah Landis, who joined for this record. Neurosis produced it with Billy Anderson in December 1995 at Brilliant Studios and Coast Studios in Oakland, and bagpipes, cello and violin are added on some tracks. The band drew on Black Sabbath and Swans, and Pete Inc. provided the visuals that went with it. It is named as one of the sources of post-metal.
