Too Dark Park is a more chaotic, electronic Skinny Puppy record than the Ministry-influenced Rabies, recorded spontaneously at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver and mixed at Little Mountain Sound, with cEvin Key and Dave Ogilvie producing. Nivek Ogre's vocals sit over synthesisers, guitars and samples from horror films, television and documentaries, including the anime Legend of the Overfiend. The themes are the collapse of society from the destruction of nature, drug addiction and psychological problems, and the cover art draws on cosmic horror and the Cthulhu Mythos.
